No sign up, and you don’t even need to enter your email (unless you want to).
So what is Flipsite?
Flipsite is a regular web browser, but… you can flip the web page over and post comments on the back.
Those notes can be just for yourself, or for the whole world to see.
You might want to comment on a restaurant or tourist destination, or a good place to buy power tools, or a knitting supply shop you like, a great music video you saw on Youtube, or a product you saw on Amazon. It’s up to you.
You can also send your post to a “topic”, which may be a special interest group, a club, a restricted group of friends, or just a way to organise related posts. You might start a topic for dog breeders, where people can recommend related websites. Or a topic for backpackers travelling through Europe, where people can recommend accomodation and sightseeing websites. Create a topic on anything you like…
You can follow topics and see updates, and follow specific users. You can control who see you, the comments you post, and the topics you create. Flipsite can give you suggestions for related topics or users for you might wish to follow.
Flipsite’s purpose is to help you save, share and find information easily, not to spew social media content at you, hoping to drive your engagement (and our ad revenue).
We’re trying to save your time, not consume it.
Anonymity
We don’t want to know who you are
Whether you are using Flipsite for your private notes, or treating it like the back of a toilet door, we don’t actually care. We keep your information as private as we can, we don’t want to know who you are, and we don’t believe in censorship.
Flipsite is an anonymous public space, and needs to be treated with appropriate scepticism. Don’t confuse anonymous tips with complete bulls**t or scams.
Is this responsible?
While we don’t want to know who you are, and let you say what you want, we absolutely believe in following the law. We will report bad behaviour.
You will be required to log in with either Apple or a Google Play Store ID. We record their anonymised ID but not your other details. We will report criminal activity, and law enforcement could use those IDs to get your identity from Apple or Google.
We also reserve the right to restrict access to anyone, at any time, for any reason.
Having said that, we give you freedom to use Flipsite as you wish. We respect your privacy, and are frankly too busy to get nosey.
Have fun. Don’t be obnoxious, and don’t do stupid stuff. Seriously.

Grouping the Internet into categories
Notes can be posted to “topics”. Anybody can create a topic, and decide who they would like to participate. A topic can be private, or invitation-only, or by users requesting access, or open to everyone.

Designed for travelers, teams, students, researchers, or developers, Flipsite simplifies note-taking and feedback. Collaborate to create or discover groups of content-related websites.
Spot a scam? Warn others.
Bogus Stores
Scammer’s websites don’t allow you to post comments (obviously). If you get scammed, use Flipsite to warn others. If you are browsing using Flipsite, it will show when a website already has comments.
Bad experience?
Many review sites let the vendors censor negative reviews. Flipsite gives you the opportunity to warn others. Beware however, that negative reviews might be written by bots or competitors. Heed warnings, but please verify all information.
Is this Social Media?
Flipsite is different
If you want selfies and pictures of someone’s lunch you are in the wrong place.
Unlike regular social media, everything on Flipsite is about something – a web page, a video, a product, a hotel, etc. Maybe even about a social media post.
It’s not just people venting their opinions, or posting click-bait to get views.
We do not advertise, and we do not pay users to create content.
Flipsite is a tool for people who want to share information. Use it where it is useful, and don’t where it is not. We aren’t trying to drive traffic, and we don’t need a billion subscribers, and we aren’t chasing revenue from advertisers. We’re happy for Flipsite to just be a valuable service.
